What is this talking about? At CES 2020, the South Korean manufacturer announced a new line of 8K TVs on OLED matrices, which received not only high-quality resolution with good contrast modulation of the CM.
Why is this needed?
The fact is that in TVs with such a resolution, it is important not only the number of pixels, but also contrast modulation (a parameter responsible for how neighboring pixels differ from each other). It is optimal that there are more than 33 million active pixels (at least 50% of the total). Otherwise, the requirements for this standard can hardly be called implemented. Finally, at least one company managed not only to take advantage of marketing, but also to fulfill the requirements for a resolution of 8K. LG Real 8K is a confirmation of this.
At the same time, in the LG SIGNATURE line, the contrast modulation index corresponds to 90%, which generally exceeded the expectations of all experts. Independent tests of Intertek and VDE have confirmed the declared characteristics!
