Where will the presentation of Cascade Lake chips take place?
Given that the Computex 2019 exhibition will be held in June 2019, it is not difficult to guess that the presentation of the new generation of Cascade Lake processors will be held in Taipei (Taiwan). Apparently, the premiere of Cascade Lake-X also awaits us at the beginning of summer. New server chips based on an improved 14nm process technology with an LGA 2066 socket will fall into this segment. At the moment, we can only assume that the new products will differ from the current 9th generation (Core-X) by supporting higher frequencies. Nevertheless, you should not expect that the manufacturer will appreciate the presence of more than 18 physical cores.
It is also worth adding that in the framework of Computex 2019, it is expected to announce the desktop chips from AMD - Ryzen 3000, created on the basis of the 7 nm process processor. Thus, Intel will give a “decent response” to updates of the main competitor. The fact is that Cascade Lake chips will be the first processors with protection against Specter and Meltdown. In addition to a high level of security from user vulnerabilities, the price tag should pleasantly surprise you.
