The Xeon Platinum 8200 line, as before, has up to 28 cores, but has received optimization for network tasks. Similarly with the Xeon Gold 6200. Silver 4200 models, in turn, received improved energy efficiency. The top model of this segment, as before, has only 12 cores, but the TDP is below 70 watts.
New 48-core chip - Xeon Platinum
Taking this opportunity, the company did not miss the opportunity to introduce a new Xeon Platinum processor with 48 cores. The 9200 Series is designed to deliver maximum performance. This is confirmed by the number of cores and a 12-channel memory controller. Thus, the device received the highest bandwidth.
At the initial level, the update received the Bronze 3200 segment. From now on, the alternative to the Xeon E chip will support artificial intelligence.
Together with the new chip and upgraded CPUs, the company announced single-chip systems for the server segment. In particular, the Xeon D-1600. This is a high-performance SoC capable of supporting interaction with the CPU, up to 8 cores. We will find out details about new products in the near future.
